OUT NOW ! More Info Here
Original pioneers of rare groove, PUSH, make a welcome return with a brand new exciting album and UK tour this Autumn! 'Band On A Mission' is a cross pollenation of classic underground rare groove and feel good contemporary funk n' soul in the shape of heartfelt songs and incredible instrumental pieces.

The album features special guest soulful legend Candi Staton who performs on 'Where I'm At' and also Hamish Stuart on the forthcoming single 'Long Gone' which features a remix from soulful underground pioneer Chris Bangs. Making his debut with PUSH on the album is new lead singer and frontman Daniel Pearce – a new generation soulful vocalist who made it as far as the X Factor Boot Camp but is now destined to test his skills against the finest voices of the modern soul underground, already working with Dizzie Rascal too, this boy means business! Daniel features on the album title track, 'Band On A Mission',  the uptempo 'Good Good Thing' and the laid-back groove 'Better Believe'. PUSH are on a mission, bringing a breath of fresh air and a wealth of musical experience into a very popular scene for people that "Feel the Funk!"

PUSH emerged from the underground London club scene in 1987, were they were at the heart of a community that thrived on JB inspired funk, Blaxsploitation soundtracks and raw soul-jazz. Push toured Europe and Japan and were regulars onstage at Gilles Peterson's legendary Talking Loud & Saying Something sessions at Dingwalls. They have worked with the likes the Style Council's Paul Weller and Mick Talbot and have long provided the soulful foundation for visiting US divas like Candi Staton and Marlena Shaw. The triumvirate of key band members Crispin Taylor (drums), Ernie McKone (bass) and Mark Vandergucht (guitar) also doubled up as the rhythm section for the innovative Galliano – a conscious and wayward band that sold in excess of 800, 000 albums. PUSH are one of mainstays of the Eighties Rare Groove and Acid Jazz scene alongside Brand New Heavies, Young Disciples and Soul II Soul. Earlier this year the band revealed a previously unreleased track featuring international mega star vocalist, Seal titled  'Lay It On The Line'. This gem was originally recorded in 1989 and was magically unearthed from the Push archives and featured last year on 'Push Retrospective 1987 – 2004: 'Return Of The Rare Groove', -  an album which unites their classic 'Can't Fight It' and 'People' albums on one CD.

"The title is unsatisfactory, because 'Rare Groove' has never gone away. More fitting would be 'The Return Of The Rare Groove Masters', because that is EXACTLY what they are." -- Snowboy / Blues and Soul

This Summer the this serious seven piece ensemble returned live 'n' direct to the big stage as a support for George Clinton's mighty Funkadelic and rocked it!

You can catch them live this Autumn on Nov 23rd - 100 Club, London :: Nov 25th - Wardrobe, Leeds :: Nov 26th - Band On The Wall, Manchester :: Nov 27th - Hoochie Coochie, Newcastle :: Dec 7th - Arts Centre, Norwich
